How to Make Your Computer Run like New/ How to Speed Up your Computer
By Daniel5
A computer is like a car, you need to give it its routine tune-up and keep it running smoothly. Usually, the reason your computer is so lazy is too many programs are running without you even knowing it. 99% of the time, you don’t even know where and why it’s even running. A careless user might also add to many shortcuts on their desktop, have old unused files, and even system drivers that need to be update. Most of the time, a computer doesn’t need to be upgraded, it just needs some system maintenance. Luckily, I’m here to show you one or two tips to keep your computer running like new.
Tools You Will Need
My 2 favorite tools used in keeping my computer running smoothly are CCleaner and Device Doctor. I use these 2 free pieces of software to give my computer its weekly tune-up. Ccleaner, you guessed it, cleans out temporary, old, and unused files that your computer doesn’t use. It also fixes your system registry and can be used to disable startup programs. Device Doctor searches for updated or missing drivers and you can directly click on the link to install drivers you need updated.

Steps
1. Ccleaner: Launch the program and first clean your files and logs by pressing “run cleaner”.
2. Now go to registry and scan for old and unused extensions. Then fix all of them up.
3. This part will dramatically speed up your computer so listen carefully. Go to advanced settings/Startup. Now disable everything except one that won’t be able to disable. Now restart your computer and see the difference. Also use firefox instead of internet explorer because it is much faster.
4. Note: If you have windows vista, disable the sidebar if you don’t use it.
Also uninstall unused programs since it’s hard for your processor to process a lot of data.
